I was super relieved after the latest hearing on Eagle River Station 2.0. I've been worried that this project which is over 30 percent bigger, has over 4,000 parking spaces, 550 housing units, and that will not be connected to town for many years does not fit what citizens have defined as important in the 2010 Eagle Area Community Plan.
However, now that the developer has stated several times that a project like this works well in a high density urban area, I'm relieved because here in Eagle, Colorado we are clearly defined as a high density urban area.
There are many people including myself who 100 percent support growth and development in our town, including projects in this area. But simply because the Eagle Area Community Plan calls for development in East Eagle it does not mean any project should be approved.
Please check out the details on the project at www.yestoeagle.com and ask hard questions of the current town board. And if possible, come to the financial presentation currently scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Yes to Eagle.
