White River National Forest officials have closed the Tigiwon Road to passenger vehicles for the winter months.
Due to the accumulation of snow and the continued presence of log trucks, safety has become a concern for motorists on the road.
Logging operations on Tigiwon Road are scheduled to continue until the first of December, after which snowmobile use of the road will be permissible under the terms of the forest's travel management plan. The road has been closed much of the summer to facilitate logging operations associated with bark beetle mitigation and hazard tree removal.
