Local couple encourages Eagle residents to 'B Active'

A series of games are planned at the town park

EAGLE, Colorado — A local couple wants to celebrate Eagle’s small town feel with a special sports event Saturday, May 23.

Brandi Resa and Markus Mueller are organizing Eagle B Active, a series of games in the town park.

Activities include three-on-three basketball games, horseshoes, badminton, a scavenger hunt, kite decorating, an obstacle course and a hula hoop contest.

Interested people can still sign up for the scavenger hunt. Registration for the scavenger hunt is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the town park, as well as Saturday at the park from 7 to 10 a.m., Resa said.

Visit www.eaglebactive.com for updates on when registration closes for the other activities. The cost to participate in Eagle B Active is $5 to $10. The scavenger hunt is $10.

Resa said she decided to plan Eagle B Active after attending several town meetings, where she realized how important it is to support the local community.

To that end, she plans to spend at least $500 on gift certifications to local businesses, which she’ll use as prizes for game winners.

In planning Eagle B Active, Resa picked games that people can enjoy without logging hours of preparation.

“It doesn’t require equipment or a lot of training,” she said.

As the name of the event implies, Resa also wants to help foster Eagle’s active lifestyle.

“I hope Eagle is a leader in that area,” she said. “I’m an active person and I think that’s important for a healthy lifestyle.”

For more information on the event, visit www.eaglebactive.com or call Resa at 970-390-0228.
