Ode to '09
Weve got
mothers, fathers, watching sons and daughters cross the stage. The roll they played is bigger
than any one of us could figure.
We owe you all for this,
Its been a wonderful trip.
With four years spent on hard work
The educations just a perk.
And this thanks today comes from us and many others
As we dedicate this day to all the moms and grandmothers
Our lives are RICH as we forge ahead,
And are together Stitched by a common thread.
Many Pasts came together to form this class.
We grew like blades in a field of grass.
From this fertile field we now reap, together.
As Eagle Valley grads, educated, forever.
We take pride in our powerful past,
As this day has dawned, at last.
The best of the best is what we are.
Athletes, scholars, all talented by far.
As we walk cross the stage (with our heads held high)
We are both ending a phase (and reaching for the sky).
For the REST of our lives (we may cheer apart)
Yet Today will survive (in our minds and hearts)
And in our hearts, deep down.
We will all Still share a pride for OUR TOWN.
Ive watched as students did their best.
Often much to Battle Mountains detest.
On day one, the Link Crew
Told us what to do.
They said seize every moment
Hold it tight like you own it
They said these four years would fly by
Or slip away if you didnt try.
I had no clue how right they were.
And my class would agree, Im sure.
How many times did I think
That I was pushed to the brink
But they were just stepping stones;
In place to strengthen my own.
And to strengthen my others,
Figurative sisters and brothers.
Change lingered in the atmosphere
As we set out on our senior year.
Construction was present on every day.
And we used it to lead in another way.
Looking back at this class, its clear
That this school will be missing (another wonderful year).
Happy mothers day to all.
May your children always call.
Some advice, given to my class
From peer-to-peer, and down is passed
TRIALS and SUCCESS will mark our lives.
To better OURSELVES may we always strive.
So to everyone here,
Please clap loudly and cheer.
And with this closing line,
I think its finally time
To celebrate the grads of Two thousand and nine.
